About Danish International Development Agency
Danish International Development Agency (Danida) is a public organization operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Founded in 1962 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Danida’s core mission is to reduce poverty through the promotion of human rights and sustainable economic growth.
Danida is involved in over 70 countries and regions around the world, including 21 priority countries inAfrica and Asia. The agency’s responsibility is the implementation and quality assurance of development cooperation projects. Its strategic objectives cover five central areas – Security, Migration, Progress, Freedom and Youth Engagement. Danida collaborates with various actors who help it to achieve its goals such as the UN, EU, World Bank, GEF, OECD/DAC, etc. Together with its partners, knowledge and technology, the wellbeing of vulnerable communities can be improved. Danida’s results can be detected in many regions as more girls attend schools, more villages have access to electricity, clean water and health care, more communities have jobs and many other ongoing developments.
