Mtendeli camp, one of the three designated refugee camps in the Western Tanzania-Kigoma region, closed on 6 December 2021 and over 21,000 refugees and asylum seekers were relocated to Nduta refugee camp. There are limited opportunities for self-reliance and livelihoods for refugees, and women and girls face protection risks.
