About Engineers Registration Board – ERB
The Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament (Engineers Registration Act No. 15 of 1997). The Board has been given the responsibility and mandate for regulating engineering activities and conduct of engineers and engineering consulting firms in Tanzania. As stipulated under sections 4(e) and 4(f) of the Act, among the main functions of the Board is to monitor the conduct and activities of engineers,
including consulting engineers or engineering consulting firms and to promote and maintain professional conduct and integrity of the engineering profession. In order for the Board to achieve its strategic objectives under these functions the Board has employed Monitoring activities.
The Mission of the Board is “To regulate engineering practice in Tanzania and promote engineering excellence amongst local engineers and engineering consulting firms with a view to enhancing their competitiveness and professionalism in the engineering practice”.
The Vision of the Board is ” To achieve sound professionalism amongst practicing engineers and engineering consulting firms in the region and beyond “
