About German Leprosy Relief Association
The statutory mission of DAHW Deutsche Lepra- und Tuberkulosehilfe e.V. has remained unchanged since the foundation of the relief organisation in 1957: The focus of our activities is the person who is excluded from society because of his or her illness and who has no access to adequate health care.
Leprosy is and remains our central field of activity. But if other diseases in our countries of operation prove to be in urgent need of treatment, we also devote ourselves to their treatment and holistic control on the basis of inclusive approaches.
In addition to leprosy and tuberculosis, we are currently also active against Buruli Ulcer, Chagas’ disease, Yaws, Lymphatic Filariasis, Schistosomiasis and other Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). We are also increasingly active in the field of humanitarian aid.
