About Government Procurement Service Agency – GPSA
The Government Procurement Services Agency (GPSA) is an Executive Agency established under the Executive Agency Act N0. 30 of 1997 vide GN 235 of 7th December 2007 and amended as per GN 133 0f 13th April 2012. The Agency was officially inaugurated on the 16th June 2008.

“To enhance economy and efficiency in procurement by providing the Government and non-government institutions with goods and services through proper arrangement of Common Procurement, storage, distribution and cleaning and forwarding”

The Government Procurement Services Agency (GPSA) on July, 2008 took over the functions that were performed by the Supplies and Services Department under the then Ministry of Infrastructure Development. The Government Procurement Services Agency (GPSA) was established to perform the following functions;
i.To provide adequate quality supplies at competitive prices;
ii.To provide clearing and forwarding and consultancy services;
iii.To provide safe and secure warehousing and storage facilities;
iv.To arrange for procurement of common use items, services and works (CUIS) using framework contracts and;
v.To provide third party procurement services;
vi.To provide for bulky procurement of motor vehicles, motor cycles and plants for Government use; and
vii.To provide consultancy services in public procurement.
