About KCB Bank Tanzania

KCB Bank Tanzania Limited was incorporated in April 1997. KCB
Bank Tanzania with its head office at Haram bee Plaza, Ali Hassan
Mwinyi/Kaunda Drive, Oysterbay Dar-es-Salam, is a subsidiary of
KCB Bank Group which operates also in Kenya, Uganda, South
Sudan, Rwanda and Burundi. KCB Bank Tanzania has 12 branches; 7
in Dar es Salaam one each in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza,
Morogoro and Zanzibar. These branches are linked online with the
rest of KCB Group branches in East Africa which makes a total of
over 230 branches.

The opening of East Africa Community is a major milestone which opens up common market to intra-regional investment and brings East African people together in terms of social, cultural and economic development. KCB Bank plays a key role as a bridge between East Africa Countries in provision of financial solutions. The Bank provides a wide range of tailored products and services as well as facilitating cross border trade.

KCB is a one branch Bank that operates in an advanced Core-banking System (T24). This state-of-the-art system puts KCB business on one IT platform which enables its customers to transact at any KCB Branch across East Africa as if they were at their domicile branches.

KCB is the first Bank in the region to have listed its shares in various stock markets in East Africa including Dar es Salaam stock exchange, Nairobi Securities Exchange, Uganda stock exchange and Rwanda over the market

Apart from investing in Tanzania in pursuit of business opportunities,
KCB Bank Tanzania brings with it the ability to support needy
communities through KCB Foundation. KCB Foundation is an arm
of the Bank that works with other stakeholders to provide needed
support in the areas of environmental protection, health, education,
enterprise development and humanitarian interventions.

KCB Group is registered as a non-operating holding company which started operations as a licensed banking institution with effect from January 1, 2016. The holding company oversees KCB Kenya – incorporated with effect from January 1, 2016 – and all KCB’s regional units in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan. It also owns KCB Insurance Agency, KCB Capital, KCB Foundation, National Bank of Kenya and all associate companies. The holding company was set up to among other things to enhance the Group’s capacity to access unrestricted capital and also enable investment in new ventures outside banking regulations, achieve operational and strategic autonomy for the Group’s operating entities and enhance corporate governance across the Group and oversight in management of subsidiaries.
