DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Construction

1. To assemble and test experimental motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings and other mechanical equipment and components;
2. To coordinate installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting and modifications, and test various types of mechanical equipment and related devices;
3. To analyze and make recommendations to the NHC facilities for improvements or modifications;
4. To undertake and coordinate periodic inspection of the NHC infrastructures and facilities so as to ensure they are in good condition
5. To coordinate works and projects and assign work to Technician, Senior Technicians, Principal Technicians and Graduate Engineers or less experienced Engineers on smaller and less complex projects;
6. To prepare and submit accurate annual assessments and product reports by analyzing charts, drawings, tests, and other data; and
7. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

• Consultancy

1. To participate in the preparation and or modification of designs of electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, issue drawing packages and make recommendations;
2. To prepare cost estimates and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) pertaining to electrical works for electrical installation systems;
3. To conduct conditional surveys, load studies and prepare reports;
4. To prepare documents to be issued for information, construction and tenders;
5. To supervise construction projects;
6. To conduct site inspections and prepare site inspection reports;
7. To carry out cost estimates of electrical equipment and works;
8. To supervise repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment;
9. To coordinate works and projects and assign work to Technicians, Senior Technicians, Principal Technicians and Graduate Engineer or less experienced Engineers on smaller and less complex projects;
10. To prepare and submit accurate annual assessments and product reports by analyzing charts, drawings, tests, and other data; and
11. To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.

REMUNERATION NHC SCALE
