DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Construction
- To assemble and test experimental motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings and other mechanical equipment and components;
- To coordinate installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting and modifications, and test various types of mechanical equipment and related devices;
- To analyze and make recommendations to the NHC facilities for improvements or modifications;
- To undertake and coordinate periodic inspection of the NHC infrastructures and facilities so as to ensure they are in good condition
- To coordinate works and projects and assign work to Technician, Senior Technicians, Principal Technicians and Graduate Engineers or less experienced Engineers on smaller and less complex projects;
- To prepare and submit accurate annual assessments and product reports by analyzing charts, drawings, tests, and other data; and
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
- Consultancy
- To participate in the preparation and or modification of designs of electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, issue drawing packages and make recommendations;
- To prepare cost estimates and Bill of Quantities (BoQs) pertaining to electrical works for electrical installation systems;
- To conduct conditional surveys, load studies and prepare reports;
- To prepare documents to be issued for information, construction and tenders;
- To supervise construction projects;
- To conduct site inspections and prepare site inspection reports;
- To carry out cost estimates of electrical equipment and works;
- To supervise repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment;
- To coordinate works and projects and assign work to Technicians, Senior Technicians, Principal Technicians and Graduate Engineer or less experienced Engineers on smaller and less complex projects;
- To prepare and submit accurate annual assessments and product reports by analyzing charts, drawings, tests, and other data; and
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.
