About National Kiswahili Council – BAKITA
Welcome to the Official Website of the National Kiswahili Council (BAKITA). The Council is a Governmental institution operating under the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports which supervises Kiswahili promotion activities within Tanzania and coordinates its development outside the country. The Council was established under the Parliament Act No. 27 of 1967 and the amendment in 1983.
BAKITA becomes an institution which is legally and financially powerful and most honourable nationally,
regionally and internationally in coordinating, managing and promoting the development of Kiswahili.
