RTI is recruiting candidates for the USAID-Funded Tanzania Arithmetic and Inclusion Education Project
RTI International is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the recently awarded USAID/Arithmetic and Inclusive Education Activity (AIE).
AIE is an RTI-implemented project, funded by USAID.The duration of the project is 15 months. It will implement alongside the USAID Tusome Pamoja Program and .11 be operating in main inland regions (Iringa, Morogoro, Ruvuma and Mtwara), as well as in Zanzibar.The inclusive education component of the project aims to increase access and opportunities Ar improved education at the primary school level, particularly for the early grades. For inclusive education AIE will work with teachers, school administrators, local government, parents and community members.
We seek to recruit: Regional Inclusion Specialists — S Positions
Location: Mtwara, Morogoro, Zanzibar, Iringa, Ruvuma
The Regional Inclusion Specialist will responsible for providing guidance and oversight to the AIE efforts to irnprove the inclusivity of early grade education A. children with disabilities (CwD). SThe will leverage his/her skills, expertise, and strong working relationships with regional and district government, universities, teacher colleges, and …p… h nclusivity of early grade education for CwD. This position supports the achievement of sub-outcomes including:
Outcome 2.1: Teaching and ling materials and training techniques considerh needs of CwD. especially of those with impaired vision; Outcome 2.3: CwD have access to and participate in schooling.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Bachelor, Degree in Education or relevant Social Sciences and 6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Or Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
Relevant experience in development Preferably: special needs teaching, Inclusive Education. teacher training, community engagement, coaching and mentoring, and research. Experience and proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government counterparts and other stakeholders.
Knowledge of communication tools used for development. Proven ability to work across geographic and cultural boundaries. Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English and Kiswahili
