Senior Associate – Public Assurance
As a Senior Associate in the Assurance Line of Service within Government and Public Sector Group, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plan and design assurance assignments and necessary tasks to be completed
Assign roles and responsibilities to team members; ensure assignments are executed as per the firm’s quality standards
Manage the overall expectations of stakeholders, prepare and submit reports in a timely manner
Remain up to date with developments in relevant legislations and the field in general
Conduct research in order to have an in-depth understanding of a client’s industry and business; interview clients to complete sections of assigned audit work
Develop the knowledge of junior team members through on the job coaching and share best practices on the completion of their sections
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge, ability to research issues, present alternatives and conclusions to clients
Communicate engagement progress to manager and partner include risks, issues, variances from plan in terms of time, budget, among others
Take full ownership of external file completion, analyse engagement economics of self and field staff and explaining variances from plan
Develop strong relationship with clients to facilitate the completion of client work
Identify potential opportunities to provide additional services to clients
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Relevant professional qualification (CPA/ACCA)
At least 4 years of relevant experience in the public audit field
