Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) invites applicants to apply for Operations Traineeship / Learnership Programme.
Programme Requirements
Interested candidates who want to apply for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria
- An S4/N6 Diploma in Electronics/ Electrical Light Current.
- Candidates with an N6 must have completed a trade as a Millwright or Electrician
- A Code 08 driver’s licence
- Must be technically oriented
- Display skill at troubleshooting and problem solving
- A self-driven achiever
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Physically fit and in particular should not be colour blind or have a fear of heights
- Be prepared to work in a heavy industry environment
- Strong knowledge of electronics and digital systems.

RBCT Learnership Stipend
When you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.

About RBCT
Richards Bay Coal Terminal (Proprietary) Limited (RBCT) is a world-class coal export terminal situated in the Port of Richards Bay. The terminal was opened in 1976 with an original capacity of 12 million tons per annum (mt/a). The terminal provides South Africa’s Coal Exporting Parties (CEP’s) with a world class logistics service that facilitates the export of coal.
RBCT is positioned at one of the world’s deep seaports and handles large ships and large volumes of coal. The 276-hectare site currently boasts a quay that is 2,2 kilometers long with six berths and four ship loaders, with a stockyard capacity of 8,2 million tons (mt).
RBCT shares a strong co-operative relationship with South Africa’s national utility, Transnet, which provides the railway services linking the coal mines to the port, and the shipping coordination of more than 900 ships per annum.
