NIDA Transport is one of the group that its endeavour continued to grow and started expanding into other areas of business such as Property development, Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Entertainment and the most recent addition, Farming.. They are in charge of maintenance, construction, and development of national roads, marine transport, international airports and national airports, as well as all local roads and railways. They also hold a shared obligation for public transport, traffic regulations, vehicle licensing, parking, traffic, and airports. They are also accountable for protocols of freight, shipping, public transport, motor vehicles and rail transportation.
NIDA Transport aims to provide sufficient skilled workers and assist in stabilizing the country’s economy. They aim to do this via their programs offered to the gifted youth of South Africa. There are many opportunities for growth within NIDA Transport.
Programme Requirements
Interested candidates who want to apply for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria
- Be a citizen of South African
- Candidates must hold a valid South African ID document
- Completed Grade 12, and have their certificate
- Be skilled in English and another language
- Must not hold a criminal record
- You must be fit for vigorous activities
- Must not be declared incompetent in any other Legislation that could be of relevance
- You must be prepared to work public holidays, weekend and shifts if required
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbal & written
- Applicants must not be involved in any employee dismissal processes

NIDA Transport Learnership Stipend
When you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.

About NIDA Transport
Nico Oosthuizen started Ni-Da in 1988 as a supplier of sand and stone to the building industry of Newcastle and the surrounding area. He soon realized the potential for growth when he identified the need for reputable transporters and successfully entered the transport sector as Ni-Da Transport.
The company grew rapidly and is currently one of the most competitive and successful side-tipper operations in South Africa, operating a fleet of over 500 vehicles throughout the country, both inland and cross border. Part of the excessive growth of the company included the expansion of the group to branch out into other sectors of business like property, hospitality and farming but at the core of everything is the love of transport.
