Programme Requirements
Interested candidates who want to apply for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria;
1. Mechanical Fitter
- Possesses a Grade 12 qualification with the following subjects:
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Physical Science (at least an E symbol)
- Mechanical Technology SG (at least an E symbol)
- Engineering Graphics and Design (at least an E symbol); or
- N2 Qualification with 4 Subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Fitter Trade Theory or Fitting and Machining Theory; or
- Engineering NCV Certificate with 7 Subjects at NQF Level 3; or
- Relevant N6 Certificate or National Techniacl Diploma with Literacy in English and Numeracy.
2. Millwright
- Possesses a Grade 12 qualification with the following subjects:
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Physical Science (at least an E symbol)
- Technical Electronics or Technical Drawings or Engineering Graphics and Designs (at least an E symbol)
- Fitting & Turning/Technical Mechanical or Mechanical Technology (at least an E symbol)
- Electrician Work/Technical Electrical or Electrical Technology (at least an E symbol); or
- N2 Qualification with 5 Subjects:
- Electrical trade theory
- Fitting and Machining Trade Theory
- Engineering Science
- Mathematics
- Industrial Electronics/or Engineering Drawings with Literacy in English and Numeracy.
3. Diesel Mechanics
- Possesses a Grade 12 qualification with the following subjects:
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and Physical Science (at least an E symbol)
- Motor mechanics SG
- Mechanical Technology (Automotive); or
- N2 Qualification with 4 Subjects:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Diesel or Motor Trade Theory; or
- Engineering NCV Certificate with 7 Subjects at NQF Level 3; or
- Relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma with Literacy in English and Numeracy.
4. Advantageous (for all fields):
- Operative/Generic Engineering Skills Programme
- N3 – N6 Engineering related certificates
- Minimum of 2 years engineering experience
