Wits RHI learnership Programme
The “Wits Health HUBB” (WHH) programme aims to provide meaningful professional work experience, training, and qualification in the healthcare space for formerly unemployed youth; to activate health consciousness and personal wellbeing amongst youth; and to expand community access to healthcare. At the end of 12 months trainees will obtain an NQF, level 3, Health Promotion Officer (HPO) qualification (SAQA ID No: 94597).
Programme Requirements
Interested candidates who want to apply for this learnership position should ensure that they meet the following criteria
What are the minimum requirements for the WHH trainee application?
- Must be 18-30 years old
- Must have a matric qualification
- Currently not in any employment, education or training
- Must not have a tertiary qualification
- Residing in Soweto
- Be willing to commit to the programme for 12 months
What are the additional requirements to become a WHH trainee?
- Computer literate (This may be assessed during the recruitment process)
- Learners must be adequately mobile to execute the work within a community
- Learners must have adequate visual and hearing capacity to master the skills envisaged
- Previous experience in health, counseling or community work is an advantage but not a necessity

What documents should I include to apply for the WHH learnership programme?
Please upload the following documents when filling out the form below.
- Certified ID copy (certification of not more than 3 months)
- Certified Matric certificate (certification of not more than 3 months)
- A Covid-19 vaccination certificate
- An affidavit that the applicant will sign at the nearest police station confirming that they are not currently in any employment, education or training and that they do not have a higher tertiary qualification.
- A one-page CV pdf or word document format
How will shortlisted candidates be contacted?
All shortlisted candidates will be contacted within two weeks to write an online assessment. All candidates should check their emails regularly so that they do not miss any follow- up communication relating to their application. Please note that we will be receiving a large number of applications and therefore we are unable to respond to all emails or phone calls inquiring on the application process. Wits RHI learnership Stipend
When you register for a Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are on the entire learnership.
What is the cost to successful WHH trainees?
- Successful candidates will have their cost of training covered and receive a small monthly stipend.
