Accommodation and Transport
- Students are accommodated in the nurse’s home which is not sufficient for our students and is controlled by the serve (hospital) in very poor living conditions
- There is no transport for students activities
- Students pay taxis for their academic and social activities
Student Activities
- Community based education ( CBE ) in the nearby locations but students hire taxis
- Excursions ( water works and sewerage services in Mthatha )
- Examination prayer services including welcoming of new learner and farewell for finalist
- Memorial services for deceased students and funeral attendance
- Sports days for students ( second Wednesdays of the month )
- Meeting days for students ( first Wednesday of the month)
- Quarterly meetings of SRC with the management
Student Support and Medical Services
- One psychiatric trained lecturer with advanced psychiatry is dedicated for this function
- All other lecturing staff also assist especially with academic support
- Use of the hospital services for student support like ARV unit and psychological services
- Service assist with pre-employment medical services on and off depending on available personnel and equipment
- Sick students attend hospital services when sick
