DIT Admissions 2021: Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) call for applications 2021/2022, Applications are invited for admission at DIT for 2021/2022 academic year. Eligible candidates (both direct entry and equivalent entry) can now apply for admission at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology Application.

Applications for all courses are accepted through the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology DIT online application system. Currently, the DIT Admissions is open for Undergraduate applicants (both direct entry and equivalent entry). To apply, students first must have to register themselves on the DIT online application system. On successful registrations, candidates can proceed to submit the application form.

 APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO UNDERGRADUATE 

(BACHELOR) DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC

YEAR 2021/2022 PROGRAMMES THROUGH OSIM-SAS

1.Application Procedures

Read the admission cliterial and verify that you are qualified for application.

2. Prepared the following documents and details in order to continue to step two:

For Applicants with ACSEE –

  1. You will use your form IV Index number and Form VI Index number for verifications of your education details or EQUIVALENT number from NECTA
  2. You are required to have a valid and working personal email address.

For Applicants with Ordinary Diploma/ Equivalent to Ordinary Diploma (FTC & Others)

  1. Applicant Verification Number (AVN) from NACTE Awards Verification System (Apply Here for AVN))
  2. You are required to have a valid and working personal email address.

3. Application Fee Payments

Pay Application fee of Tsh10,000 for Tanzanian applicant or Tshs equivalent to USD10 for Non-Tanzanian applicant to Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) by using the Control number provided from the OSIM system on step two: Payment verification.

Payment can be done through CRDB, NBC, NMB, T-PESA, M-PESA, TIGOPESA and AIRTEL-MONEY

The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology invites applications from qualified candidates for the admission into the Institute’s Bachelor Degree Programmes for the academic year

2021/2022 scheduled to commence in October 2021.

A.1 The Institute offers THREE and FOUR years programmes leading to:

(i)           Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering,

(ii)          Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering,

(iii)         Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering,

(iv)         Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and

(v)         Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

A.2 The Institute offers THREE years programmes leading to:

(i)    Bachelor of Technology in Laboratory Sciences, and

(ii)   Bachelor of Engineering in Oil and Gas Engineering.

(iii)  Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering

B: THREE (3) YEARS PROGRAMMES

B.1 Applicable for candidates with Ordinary Diploma (NTA LEVEL 6) OR Full Technician Certificate (FTC) who wish to pursue Bachelor Degree programmes in their fields of study.

B.2 Minimum Entry Qualifications

Holder of a relevant Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Engineering/Technology in the following fields: Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, Biomedical Equipment Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering, Communication System Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Science & Laboratory Technology, Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with minimum of Second Lower Class (Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0) and at least 4 passes or three (3) credit passes including

Mathematics and Physics/Engineering Science subjects at Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE);

OR

Holder of a relevant Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Engineering/Technology in the following fields: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Science & Laboratory Technology, Water Resources Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution with an average of minimum pass of C or an average of minimum 3 points based on the following conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 and at least 4 passes or three (3) credit passes which include Mathematics and Physics/Engineering Science subjects at Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE).

C: FOUR (4) YEARS PROGRAMMES

C.1 Applicable for candidates with Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE) or candidates with Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6)/Full Technician Certificate (FTC) who wish to change their fields of study.

C.2 Minimum Entry Qualifications

Holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE) in the combinations of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Geography and

Mathematics (PGM) with at least two Principal level passes in Physics and Mathematics with

total points not below 4.0 based on the conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1, S = 0.5, F=0 for applicants who completed Form VI before the year 2014 or after the year 2015 to date. Applicants who completed Form VI in the year 2014 or in the year 2015 must have total points not below 4.0 based on the conversion scale: A=5, B+=4, B=3 C=2, D=1, E=0, F=0 .

OR

Holder of Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Engineering/Technology with minimum entry requirements described in item B.2 above who wish to change their fields of study.

D.1 Eligible applicants for Bachelor degree programmes are required to apply through DIT Online Platform, on which the modality and procedures for application will be accessible stated.

D.2 You are advisedto choose the programme that you prefer since no change of programme will be entertained once the admission has been offered.

D.3 All eligible applicants for Bachelor Degree programmes studied at DIT applying for readmission at different levels are required to collect application forms from the office of the Registrar.

The closing date for receiving applications for 1st round is on 5th August, 2021. 

     No consideration will be made for late applicants.

Submission of forged certificates or any false information is a criminal offence and will be handled according to the law.
