About Kilindi District Council (DC)
Kilindi District is one of the 10 districts of Tanga Region in Tanzania. It is bordered by Handeni district to the east, Kilimanjaro Region to the west-north and Morogoro Region to the south.
In 2012 it had 236,833 residents living in 20 counties of the district.
The district headquarters is located in Songe Ward.
Promoting and facilitating investment in Economy and Social Development.
To reduce poverty and improve the living conditions of all people in Kilindi district
To be an effective and efficient institution in enabling Local Government Authorities to improve the quality of life of citizens and the provision of services to the community.
Provide professional advisory services of the highest standards and quality to Councils and other stakeholders with a view to promoting and improving economic and social development in accordance with Government Policies, Laws and Guidelines.
To oversee the policies, regulations, procedures and laws of the country.
Facilitate and maintain peace, maintain order and good governance.
Facilitate social and economic well-being for all people within the Region.
Implement the devolution plan at the social, political, financial and administrative level.
To uphold human rights for all citizens.
Resolve and resolve various conflicts that arise in the community.
