About Nsimbo District Council (DC)
Nsimbo District Council was established in accordance with Act No. 7 of Local Government Authorities Act 2002, Sections 8 and 9 and promulgated by Government Proclamation No. 361 on 23 December 2012 and officially commenced on July 1,2013.
This council was formed from Mpanda District Council which was previously located in Rukwa Region where after the separation of Nsimbo and Mlele Councils were born.
Location:
Nsimbo District Council is bordered by 3 Councils. To the north it is bordered by Urambo District Council in Tabora Region, North West and South West is bordered by Mpanda District Council, to the west it is bordered by Mpanda Municipality, to the north south Nsimbo borders Sumbawanga District in Rukwa Region, whereas East and South East it borders Mlele District.
The headquarters of Nsimbo District Council is located in Songambele Ward on the way to Tabora, 17 km from Mpanda Mjini.
At International Boundaries Nsimbo District Council is located at Latitude 5o 0, and 7o 30, south of the equator and at a distance 29o 0, and 30 o 0, east of Griniwichi.
Nsimbo District Council is estimated to have an area of 14,623 Square Kilometers, which is 30.8 percent of the total area of Katavi Region which is a flat plateau with a few valleys where almost the entire area is used for human activities.
Weather.
The Climate District Council’s climate varies depending on the elevation from sea level and depends on the vegetation of the shrubs and vegetation.
