About Same District Council (DC)
Same District Council was formally established by an Act of Parliament Chapter 287 (District Authorities) of the Laws of Tanzania and commenced its functions on 01 January 1984. In addition the Council has 13 Departments and 6 units that perform various functions as set out below. : –
1.0 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
1.1 Community Health Fund (CHF)
30.6% of households in Same District have joined CHF. For Kilimanjaro Region Same District is the 3rd of the seven District Districts.
1.1.1 Existing Plans / Strategies to reach 80%
Ensuring that beneficiaries who receive funding through the Poor Household-TASAF program join the CHF fund
Using school students in groups of six to join CHF for example Same Secondary.
District Health Board to make an awareness visit to Health facility committees to join CHF.
Center Health Committees to mobilize communities through village meetings and CHF as a permanent Agenda for village meetings.
