THE Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) has opened admission window for 2022/2023 academic year for prospective students of under- graduate degree programmes.

The development follows the announcement of this year’s Form Six National Ex- amination results. Commission’s Executive Secretary, Prof Charles Kihampa said that the window was opened yesterday (July 8th) instead of July 15th as announced earlier and will remain open until August 8th this year.

He called upon applicants to continue accessing accurate information through www.tcu.go.tz, and the websites of higher learning in- stitutions which have been permitted to admit first degree students, including keeping abreast with information provided by TCU through media.

The applicants should also visit the 17th Higher Education, Science and Technology exhibitions, to be held from 18th to 23rd this month, at Mnazi Mmoja grounds in Dar es Salaam region, for further information. He clarified that appli- cants should be those with Form Six, Ordinary Diploma as well as Foundation Certifi- cate from the Open Univer- sity (OUT).

Prof Kihampa added that for accurate information on the qualifications to the three groups, the applicants are di- rected to read the Undergrad- uate Admission Guidebooks for 2022/2023 and visit the TCU website.

Prospective university students were also directed to send their applications to the universities of their choices, through the system which will be specified by respective universities.

“They should also direct- ly communicate with universities to know the available programmes before sending their applications,” advised Prof Kihampa.

Those with certificates from the foreign education institutions were directed to submit them to relevant local education authorities, including National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) and National Council for Technical and Vocational Ed- ucation and Training (NACT- VET) for approval.

“The TCU boss urged the applicants to avoid using registration agents, stressing that; “accurate information is available on the commis- sion’s website and the permitted universities. But one can also send his/her enquiries to es@tcu.go.tz. We will immediately respond.”
